11 Ironmonger Lane

Case Study

Introduction

11 Ironmonger Lane is a Grade II listed building situated in the financial centre of the City of London. On behalf of Feldberg Capital, Peldon Rose carried out a comprehensive refurbishment of the property, covering 11,415 sq ft across multiple floors. The aim was clear: to transform a dated interior into a refined, timeless space, one that would appeal to the building’s distinguished financial services clients while respecting its rich historical character.

The Brief

A project of this calibre demanded more than off-the-shelf solutions. The design team at Peldon Rose crafted an interior concept steeped in elegance, drawing inspiration from exclusive London members’ clubs and the building’s Roman heritage, with refined brass detailing, fluted glass panels, and bespoke finishes throughout.

Translating that vision into physical reality required a joinery partner capable of working to exacting standards across several key areas of the building.

Specifically, Peldon Rose needed high-quality, bespoke joinery for the entrance lobby, tenant lift claddings, and washroom facilities, spaces that would set the tone for the entire tenant experience and leave a lasting first impression.

The Solution

Entrance Lobby Furniture

WSG Joinery supplied bespoke furniture pieces for the entrance lobby, helping to establish the boutique hotel aesthetic that defined the redesign. Each piece was crafted to complement the refined interior palette, from the chevron-patterned ceramic floor tiles to the large marble slabs surrounding the fireplace, ensuring a seamless, cohesive arrival experience.

Lift Claddings

The tenant lifts were a focal point of the building’s vertical journey, and their treatment demanded careful attention to detail. WSG Joinery manufactured and installed bespoke lift claddings that mirrored the building’s overall design language, incorporating refined finishes and wayfinding elements inspired by the Roman mosaic discovered beneath the building, a subtle yet meaningful nod to the area’s historical heritage.

Washroom Fitouts

WSG Joinery also delivered the bespoke joinery elements for the building’s washrooms, which were completely redesigned as part of the refurbishment. The result was a suite of modern, spacious facilities that maintained the same standard of quality and sophistication found throughout the rest of the building.

Throughout each phase, WSG Joinery’s collaborative approach ensured close alignment with Peldon Rose’s design intent, timelines, and quality benchmarks, delivering precision craftsmanship from manufacturing through to on-site installation.
