The Gate Hotel, London

How we Made it together

When it comes to beautiful interiors, The Gate Aparthotel London doesn’t disappoint. And WSG was proud to have been a part of creating it.

It’s an iconic 21 story Flatiron-style building, that sits nicely between the slick city and creative East. Its interior design celebrates this juxtaposition perfectly, exploring a pallet of raw exposed textures and contemporary, luxury finishes to create a stunning space.

So this was a fantastic project to get involved in. Our role? To design, manufacture deliver and install two large 5-star bar and reception areas in The Gate.

How we Made it simple

From beginning to end WSG expertly managed the entire project. We had a strong team that provided expert control from pre-contract to installation.

We were tasked with designing, manufacturing, and installing a downstairs reception bar area with a large, imposing bespoke hanging gantry suspended from the ceiling. The upstairs bar required brass fluting on all front-facing cabinets, and a Corian bar that we brought in sections to create, construct and finish whilst on-site.

It had the potential to be complicated, but we’d already pre-empted that to minimise any installation disruption.

How we Made it relevant

Right from Pre-Contract design stage, we knew that this project needed to match urban with luxe. Some features of this installation might not be that straightforward but were essential to meet the look and feel we wanted to achieve.

So that meant that when the solid brass that we mounted onto the bar front proved to be a little weighty, we weren’t going to compromise on the vision we’d laid out from the start. We overcame that.

And the hanging gantry above this reception area was a great piece of fabricated design, but a design and installation challenge. But our team made this work too.

The Gate Commercial Interior

How we Made it sing

Being at the forefront of the interiors industry, we pride ourselves on new innovations in materials and design. And this project had plenty of head-turners.

The gantry was imposing. And along with the solid brass fluting, and an exposed luxury and contemporary feel was tied together.

The Corian bar and solid timber, coupled with touches like brass trim and high-tech equipment such as ziptaps and bar tablets finished the installation off nicely.

The final result was stunning. It was an installation that, upon completion, we stood back and truly admired
