Beckett House in London is a residential building that Quarterback were refurbishing. And as part of that refurb, they asked WSG to be responsible for the work in the reception area.
Quarterback have been responsible for executing some incredible, innovative pieces of real estate, and we knew we had the ability to fit right in with their ethos.
They had a vision for the reception area, and when they presented their concept to us, our Pre-Contract Design team took hold the brief. They were in dialogue with the client straight away, and we were immediately on the same page.
Drawings were shared, and the WSG office converged to show our client what we could do, and how we could do it. Our sales team, estimating team and project management team engaged with the Quarterback team to dot I’s and cross T’s, and agree on a pathway forward.
Quarterback wanted an area that not only welcomed, but looked modern, inspired, and reflected the quality synonymous with what they do. Specialist bespoke joinery was a necessity to create a reception desk with a difference.
Tea points were needed, as was a tea point island. And we had to create shelving, and a print area – all of which had to tie together and look impressive.
Our design engineering team looked over concept and set to work, ensuring that we what we were going to create had that perfect balance of looking great, and functioning perfectly.
After engineering the products in-house, we decided to take a specialist installation approach for this project. Proving that dry-building is important. But it looked great on our shop floor, we couldn’t’ wait to put it in situ.
We’d agreed with Quarterback that we’d create a reception desk with a solid surface look, but that came in at a more digestible budget. Our creation included a laminate finish, which was nicely edged, along with laminated batons. And even though that option came in at a lower cost, it looked fantastic. The quality of product surpassed the client’s expectation, and they were overwhelmed with the result.
The accompanying furniture was in keeping with that look. The tea points and the island were built from laminate and veneer board, and engineered in such a way that it carried off a stunningly modern, high quality look, making a luxury space befitting of the high-level of interior that Quarterback are known for.
Once again, WSG had made a distinguished client very happy.
